I'm pretty excited because I have been toying with being a small business owner forever. The problem of course being that I don't have really any start-up capital and I really wanted to do something that wasn't a SCAM!
So, I tried Avon, Mary Kay.. the biggest problem with those two companies is that there are SO many representatives! The number is really ridiculous!
Well, I love bath and body products and one year for my Girl Scout troop, we made bath salts and lip balms to give the parents for Christmas. I even gave them out to teachers, therapists, whatever. And I got so many compliments on them. Tons.. So that is when I decided I'd love to make my own and sell them.
Well, I already sell the odd piece of whatever at a local flea market. Let's just say, I don't make any money, but I've made some great friends. So.. I stay :). At any rate.. I'm blabbing.. I've got a really great line of soaps and bath salts, and lip balms, and even candles too. And out of nowhere they start going off the shelves! I casually mention it and now I'm sold out! In two weeks I'm going to be a vendor at a local festival, and now need to revamp my inventory...
And then.. out of nowhere...
I find this great opportunity for selling children's books. Not only online, at home parties, but also as fund raisers, and schools, and libraries. If you'd like to shop too, you can go to http://www.families4books.com. That is my web address so you can buy from me :).
Then BAM... everyone is interested! I have 2 home parties booked, the festival, and the therapy clinic my daughter goes to wants me to bring my stuff up.. and then BAM... I meet a wonderful lady (one of my flea market friends) who is a teacher and took off with one of my catalogues to her school to give to all the teachers and get me some orders! HOW CRAZY IS THAT!
I'm so excited. Right now I have to get my custom order books together for both Sundry Dreams and my books... and I have to make my product.. and I have to do my research.. and did I mention I'm also in college, so I have to hurry and write some papers that are do ASAP!
Life is so awesome right now!
